I have a new student, who lives in Leicester (Hola, Phil!) and one of the first things we talked about was the pronunciation of the word ‘Leicester’. In Spanish the basic rule is that each consonant/vowel group is a separate syllable, so I said ‘Lei-ces-ter’. Besides, my brain is phonetic like my mother tongue: Spanish… (we pronounce as we write) Phil corrected me, and later sent me this picture. Ha, ha 😀
Tengo un nuevo estudiante, que vive en Leicester (¡Hola Phil!) y una de las cosas de las que hablamos fue la pronunciación de la palabra “Leicester”. En español, la regla básica es que cada grupo de consonantes/vocales es una sílaba separada, así que dije ‘Lei-ces-ter’. Ademas mi lengua materna es fonética….(pronunciamos como escribimos) Phil me corrigió, y más tarde me envió esta imagen jaja 😀

Por otra parte, mi querido estudiante de Bristol John (Hola!), me enseñó estas fotos de Gales. Para que luego digan que el español o el euskera son complicados…Mirad esta palabra en galés, es kilométrica 😀
